Black Angus' Cheesy Garlic Bread
1 French bread loaf
1/2 cup butter -- softened
1 cup shredded Asiago cheese
(you could try Parmesan cheese)
1 cup shredded Jack cheese
1 cup mayonnaise
1 bunch green onions -- chopped
2 garlic cloves -- pureed
Split French bread loaf into halves horizontally. Mix butter, cheeses,
mayonnaise, green onions and garlic in bowl, blending well. Spread the
cut side of bread halves with spread.
Bake at 350 degrees for 7 minutes, then place under broiler about 3
minutes longer. Cut into slices and serve.
This recipe yields 1 loaf.
Taste: Pasta 5/5, Bread 4/5 The pasta was really nice and the whole dish took me about 15 min to make. The bread--ok, here it goes. The bread was WAY WAY rich. It was delicious, but too rich to eat like any other cheesy garlic bread. This bread would be best served in bite-size pieces on a party buffet. I actually ended up throwing it away (gasp!) If you do make it, I recommend cutting the amount of green onion in half, as it was too onion-y.
Ease of preparation: 5/5 Easy. Fast.
Brit-rating: Wouldn't taste the pasta because "I'm not keen on pasta and I don't like nuts." The bread was "nice if you like onions".
Serve to guests: 5/5 on the pasta, and only to guests as mentioned above--bite size pieces.
Leftoverability: 5/5 Pasta was lovely for lunch, and well, the bread was....in the trash.
